Introduction

Taylor & Grant is a quality manufacturer of breath mints, chocolates and hard candies enjoyed throughout North America and the rest of the world. The company started production in 1993, producing personalized corporate food gifts for the advertising specialty industry. It has now grown to become one of the leading suppliers in North America in this category.

Situation

With growth comes the need for an information technology system that can handle the growth demands. In addition, emerging markets in parts of North America and Europe created a situation for Taylor & Grant to meet and service these needs effectively.

The Challenge

Taylor & Grant had relied on a third party supplier for its website development, hosting, and order processing. This reliance, while initially economical, was proving to be a barrier to their own growth and the company wanted to take direct ownership of its clients. In order to develop a fully functional e-commerce website, the company needed to identify the business processes from product displays to order processing and translate them to electronic format.

The Opportunity

The website development was awarded to another web development company. Recognizing they did not have the project management experience to handle the myriad client demand and complex navigation and deployment, the web development company contracted the project management aspect of the project to The Biztek Group. The Biztek Group oversaw the building & deployment of the new system and the integration of both the old & new systems.

The Strategy

The Biztek Group was responsible for liaising with the client’s project team and quickly assessed the client’s business needs providing ongoing consultation throughout the development and deployment process. The Biztek Group also ensured that milestone timelines were achieved and the budget was met.

The Result

A robust and scalable system was built and deploye, that fully exceeded the initial needs of Taylor & Grant. Now in the final stage, The Biztek Group will provide site monitoring while Taylor and Grant’s in-house support team gets up to speed with the integrated system.
